Why This Formula Cuts Through Grime Fast
The formula combines ethanol and butyl glycol ether as solvents, with a small amount of ammonia (under 2 percent) to help break down grease and fingerprint oils. The ammonia is also what gives the fast, streak free evaporation once you wipe it away. It's alkaline, sitting at around pH 9, which is what makes it effective on grease without needing to scrub.
How to Get a Streak-Free Finish
- Use a microfiber cloth, not paper towel. Paper towel leaves fibres behind and can smear rather than lift residue.
- Avoid direct sunlight or a hot surface. If the glass is warm, the product dries before you've had a chance to wipe it off, which is what causes streaking.
- Spray a thin, even coat. More product doesn't mean a better clean, it just means more to wipe off.
- Wipe in one direction, then buff dry in a second pass. This gives a more even finish than circular wiping.
- Use two cloths for heavily soiled glass. One to lift the grime, a clean dry one to buff.

Glass Cleaner is suitable for automotive glass and mirrors, household windows and mirrors, and chrome and stainless steel surfaces. It's a spray and wipe product, so no mixing or dilution is needed before use.
What Not to Mix It With
Never mix Glass Cleaner with bleach or other strong oxidising cleaners. The product's safety data sheet lists strong oxidisers and strong acids as incompatible with this formula, and mixing an ammonia containing cleaner with bleach specifically can produce hazardous fumes. Always store and use it on its own.
